International short films: final list with synopsis

1) Fear (Dir: Alyona Poliyakova; 2 min; Russia)
Always put yourself to the place of the one who is always nearby. Especially, if you have tamed him.

2) Fire (Dir: Maria Shulgina; 14 min; Russia)
Two street patrol officers, he and she, are doing their shift. It seems like nothing bad is going to happen, but this shift is the one when she finds out he has cheated on her. This discovery becomes fatal since it's a firearm in her hands...

3) Good Day (Dir: Dasha Charusha; 18 min; Russia)
Abdul, a young driver from Central Asia, forgets all his previous problems, when a pregnant Lena jumps into his yellow taxi, with her waters about to burst. First, the young man must learn to answer to the name 'Misha' (Lena is used to it), and then – deliver the baby in extreme conditions, that is – an ordinary Moscow traffic jam. Participants in the congestion, including one foreigner and one pensioner, also have to take part in the operation.

4) Innocent (Dir: Alexey Sashin; 15 min; Russia)
Sergey lives an ordinary life of a family man and small businessman, but by bad chance, he becomes a victim for killers. Sergey’s last words become unexpected coming-out after which he is even ready to fire himself a security round. It’s turned out that we all have many confessions to make before we die, and it’s sometimes difficult to live with them rather than die.

5) Kin (Dir: Elen Nelidova; 30 min; Russia)
A loner Lesha returns to his parental home to make arrangements for a funeral of his Dad with whom he cut any communication long ago, but finds him alive, however seriously ill. Although being deceived the young man enjoys the opportunity to get things work with his father and stays to take care of him. But soon regular arguments and recriminations make Lesha understand it is impossible to restore relationships with his Dad and his chance for a happy life without shadows of the past depends on whether he will be able to embrace his father or keep hating him.

6) EULOGY FOR DENIS K (Dir: Julia Trofimova; 12 min; Russia)
When four female friends gather together at the wake of one of their husbands to commiserate, the arrival of an unexpected guest turns the tables on the grieving widow.

 7) Teacher Master (Dir: Maxim Elagin; 14 min; Russia)
An elder literature teacher leads a lonesome life in his apartment, reads books and listen culture news. Every day he calls up his friend, who lives in a far-away town, to reminisce about their youth. He’s not interested in modern world at all, but one day it breaks right into his house by itself, turning old teacher’s life over once and for all.

8) The Tree (Dir: Hava Mukhiyeva; 22 min; Russia)
Hava and Adam live next door and are friends like their parents. The children write letters to each other and pass them hiding them in a tree hollow. They love the tree and confide their secrets to it. They are dreamers living in their fantasy. Aslan, Adam's farther, runs business in town and comes back to the village one day. Sultan, Hava's farther, like many other of their neighbours, is happy for his success and celebrates his coming home. Unfortunately not all of the villagers share these feelings… 

9) The Typical Case (Dir: Daniil Gellar; 16 min; Russia)
A desperate therapist is visited by a very successful person trying to convince him that life is meaningless.

10) Hand (Dir: Igor Marchenko; 23 min; Russia)
Mikhail, a carpenter, cuts his hand by accident when rehearsing love confession. Trying to conceal a work accident, he tries to find the way to sew his hand on.

11) Mousse (Dir: John Hellberg; 30 min; Sweden)
What could be easier than robbing a small bookie place on the outskirts of town? It’s during the year’s biggest horse race event and the betting center Washington’s Tobacco looks like the ultimate hit for some fast cash. Mousse is a man of pride and principles and is fed up with living as a second-class citizen. But what happens when he faces principles different to his own?

12) Say Before (Dir: Nadezhda Krylova; 28 min; Russia) 
Maxim is 30 years old engineer working in big IT-company. Yet not married, no debts, no mortgage - unlike his friends and colleagues. One not so good day he visits a doctor. Medical inspection shows, that Maxim is terminally ill. After quick thoughts and brief analysis of possibilities, Maxim decides to make unexpected and courageous act.
